industrious crows

Chris pointed this out to me and I stole her picture idea. The crows use the uninhabited pool area in the winter as an open place to drop various shelled sea creatures in order to crack their shells and get at the tender insides. They sometimes use parts of the path on the seawall as well, but people are present there most of the time - why rush when there's an exclusive area nearby?
