An old friend is in town this weekend and we both love physical things, so I finally got out to Grouse Mountain to do the legendary Grouse Grind - 2800 ft up in 2.8 km of trail. It's tough but the view is pretty fantastic and the sense of achievement is great (at the end). Unfortunately, I don't think you can walk down afterwards (though I've been told you can) - you have to pay the $10 to take the gondola down, though the view and speed are both quite nice.
