We took advantage of a second nice day to head a bit further north to Pemberton and check out the mountains there with a bit of a rest. Before we sat and drank wine at the golf club and watched golfers whack away with mountains towering in the background, we stopped by the only organic potato vodka maker in the world - Schram's.
Actually, we also found out that this little town supplies most of the potato seed in North America due to the fact that it was one of the only places that wasn't hit by the potato blight. It's very tightly controlled. This little place buys a lot of the B grade (weird-looking) potatoes and makes alcohol out of them. A husband and wife team run it and family helps out. They were really friendly and the vodka and gin were fantastic! I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area.
