turkish delight factory

The highlight of our day today definitely had to be the Turkish delight factory that we visited. Turkish delight (called lokum here) from Safranbolu is especially well-known in Istanbul and we wanted to check out how it was made. The workers were very friendly, showing us the big copper boiling vats, the flats of cooling delight, the cutting process, and the many boxes they had to fill, offering us samples at almost every point. They're good at what they do, that's for sure, though this guy never smiled. Too hard at work, I guess.
