With both of us feeling better, we took a local bus out of town to visit the ruins of old Malatya, better known now as the town of Battalgazi. The old main mosque has been restored, but very thoughtfully done so that the beautiful old Seljuk tile designs are still part of the design and they're protected from any further deterioration. Whoever did this was thinking and thinking well. The designs were quite beautiful.
