Urfa is supposedly where King Nimrod got tired of Abraham preaching and ordered him to burn, but God turned the fire to water and the coals to fish. Legend has it that the carp in this pond are descended from those, uh, coals. There are a lot of them and they swarm like crazy when someone drops food into the pond.

Side note: there is a town called Batman in Turkey, which I find endlessly entertaining.
