Today we went to see the Jade Market. Upon arrival, we remembered it isn't open on Saturdays, so we headed further north up to Lotus Lake. There are a collection of temples out there and it's full of people and stands and food and noise. It was also some kind of feast day or lucky day, as there were offerings and a dragon that spurted smoke. Mom and Dad really enjoyed it and sampled some of the local fare. Fireworks in the evening (a fairly common occurrence here) wrapped up a pretty spectacular first day.
