up a mountain

Posted by
Ryan (Vancouver, Canada) on 15 November 2008 in Plant & Nature.

We went to climb the tallest mountain in southern Taiwan this weekend. Today we drove from sea level to the base of the trail at 1500 metres and hiked another 500 to the camp. It was tough. Christine was recovering from a cold/cough combo and found it really hard and decided to stop at the camp. It was a very nice hike, though. We'll be rising early tomorrow - 2 or 3 AM in order to get to the top and back with enough time. There are some Taiwanese who will want to catch the sunrise at the peak who will be up at one in the morning! Nutso.
