offerings

This month is ghost month on the lunar calendar. That means no swimming (ghosts live in the water), no weddings (not an auspicious time, though I'm sure they still happen), and lots and lots of offerings and spirit money burning (I'm sure there will be pictures of that in the future as well). These offerings are sent to the ancestors to appease them and show them they are respected and remembered on earth - one of the basic tenets of Daoism. Anything can be offered and often is.
