what could be more english?

One of my hosts took me punting today. Punting is poling, like in Venice, in case you're not in the know and think immediately of the Roughriders and their long string of victories this season. We headed down on the river to celebrate a friend's birthday and ended up in a park-like area enjoying wine, strawberries, homemade biscuits with clotted cream and jam, and many types of sandwiches - cucumber, egg salad, and cheese and jam. How very English. It was a blast. I even tried punting and basically just pushed us from one shore to the other. Well, you have to have a first time before you can improve!
