a day in cobh

I went to the smaller town that's much closer to where I'm staying. There's another cathedral (again, gorgeous. I love Irish cathedrals), houses painted every colour of the rainbow (a somewhat recent development, like in the last decade or so, as money has come into the country), Titanic and Lusitania memorials (this was the last port of call for both of them), a heritage centre, and plenty of pubs and shops. I even enjoyed a pint in a pub that shared my name - how often do you get to do that?

This group was a fantastic break after a hard bike ride into town. They were touring around, I guess, performing here and there and today was their day here! They were very good and really entertaining. A local Irish group also played and danced during the intermissions, which was great as well. What a day!
