Cuzco has really nice buena onda (good vibes) and we spent Easter Sunday just walking around absorbing them. There were a couple of small parades and we got into the main Cathedral for free (they charge for everything in this town, being the tourist capital of the continent. You can go to mass in the morning, but if you want to visit as a tourist, you need a ticket to get in!), seeing the Lord of the Earthquakes, a giant Jesus on a cross that is taken out and paraded around every year to help prevent and/or stop earthquakes. Happy Easter everyone!
Oh, and I almos forgot. For Easter food, we started with a nice hearty English breakfast, then headed out to a cuy festival - that's right, a big fat guinea pig for Easter dinner. It's a little bit of work, but I really enjoyed it. It does not taste like chicken - I'm told it's halfway between rabbit and quail, but not having tried either, all I can say is it was delicious.
