salt - from the plains to your table

This guy is making the pyramids you see all around him, which are later picked up and taken to processing plants to become delicious salt. About 20,000 kg of salt are removed each year, 90% of which is for human consumption.

We also got to see the end of the rainy season's effects - a giant mirror, as the sky is blue and the ground is covered with water. Getting this along with the blinding whiteness of the flats where they had dried out was a wonderful treat - it seems we came just at the right time!
