We had a busy and beautiful day today, accompanied by perfect sunny weather. First we headed down to Pumamarca to see the postcard-perfect Valle de los siete colores - Valley of Seven Colours. I think you can see why it has that name. Absolutely amazing to see all the minerals bearing their colours in the bright sunshine - green copper, red iron, purple something-or-other, white something else...As you can see, I don't exactly what all goes into it, but that doesn't stop me from loving it.
Next we headed a few kilometres up the road to see the Artist's Palette and the hillside graveyard in Maimará. Chris has the photo up for this on her photoblog for this day. A hungry little boy tried to sell us some rocks when he saw us, so Chris gave him the cookies she had in her bag and he scampered off down the hill.
