giant jesuits

We visited the Jesuit ruins in the small towns of Jesús and Trinidad outside of Encarnación today. Four hundred years ago the Jesuits came and built these huge buildings, trying to save the souls of the Guaraní. They sit outside of these towns still, radiating power. Even though there's no one in them and no one around, you still feel like you have to whisper. It was humbling.
