thank you, gauchito gil

I think I've mentioned Gauchito Gil here before - he's a folk saint that is very popular in Argentina (there is a group that continues the fight to have him canonized). We visited the spot where he supposedly was killed today, a huge shrine full of plaques and messages and gifts of thanks. You see, after one comes and makes a wish and it comes true, it's tradition to return with a gift of thanks for the blessing, usually related to the wish. This is part of the storage area, full of wedding dresses, knives, futbol uniforms and equipment, bikes, even a copy of someone's sonogram.
