the long trip up

We left today to do our last overnight bus trip up the Andes to their terminus at the top of the continent in the Caribbean Sea. We're going to Santa Marta, a little beach city on the coast and the place where Simón Bolivar died in poverty after freeing a good part of the continent from the Spanish.

This church looked candy-striped to me.
