valle de las rocas

We started our trip into the biggest and highest salt flats by heading away from them. As we had chosen a three-day tour, we were also in for some time in the surrounding area, including an entire town that had been moved for a mining operation, this valley of volcanic rocks shaped by time and weather, and a whole lot of driving. The reason? Our cook was heading that way. Well, we had to do it anyway, and it'll make for an interesting trip - most people do it the other way.
