bleakness

This landscape can have an effect on people. Chris was certainly affected today by the lack during our four hour bike ride to see sea lions. The sea lions were great, this is a great time to see them, but we saw so much Patagonian tundra. No wonder Bruce Chatwin in In Patagonia described this so negatively sometimes. It's a wonder that people from other places chose to live here. I like it, though - this is the kind of land that really makes real people, you know?
