the essence of absence

Patagonia, since its 'discovery', has been noted for its lack of...well, almost everything. To me, it seems like prairie. Or maybe tundra. Regardless, going down the highway, you're either surrounded by sky (yay!) or your view is split between highway and ocean. Either way, it's oppressive and intriguing, empty and full of potential, exciting and depressing.
