quest for the champion

The empanada competition was today - who will be the Queen of the Empanada Festival? Chris and Layne actually got to be judges, rating each contested based on taste, the cooks' dress and aspect, conformity (?), juiciness, the look of the empanada, the repulges (the folds used to close the empanada), and the size. I was happy because I got to walk around like a press reporter, taking as many pictures as I wanted and generally being nosy. I even got to participate in my first press scrum at the end, elbowing for a good angle to get the picture.

I still want more empanadas, even though that's all I ate all day.
