...so it makes sense that there is a giant synagogue right in the downtown area. It's really quite nice (not accessible to the public, though). I think I've posted before that Buenos Aires puts out one of the four Yiddish papers in the world and the neighbourhood we live in used be almost purely Jewish (you can still see a lot of men walking around with yamakas on their heads). Strangely, there are no Jewish restaurants, which is sad, as I would love to try some food.
It all came after World War II - Argentina remained neutral and let immigrants in afterwards - the victims and the bad guys, which sometimes made for uncomfortable living conditions. Needless to say, many of them stayed on and continue living here.

Beautiful image and I like the rosey tones and framing of the trees.

@Sherri: Thanks a lot! I got the idea from a friend, I have to admit. The timing of the light worked out just perfectly - it peeked through the clouds just as I thought about the shot, then hid away again just after I was done.
Hi Ryan! Yes, there are a few Jewish restaurants is Bs.As. Last time I've been there I went to Mama Europa, Tte. Benjamín Matienzo 1599, Tel: 4772-0926 / 4777-3835, Las Cañitas (http://www.mamaeuropa.com.ar). Very good Varénikes!
