she's headed back north

A good friend and the manager of South American Explorers, Jen, is headed back to the US with her husband in a matter of weeks (two, actually). Tonight was a send-off/Thanksgiving/Christmas party for her, as she will not be here to celebrate the last two in Buenos Aires. It's cold anyway, so it seemed right to have a Thanksmas.

Overwhelming amounts of (mostly vegan) food (Jen's a vegan, though a chicken or two was cooked and I made egg nog) were laid out and consumed, then Anti-Christmas commenced. Anti-Christmas, as I have termed it, is a method of gift distribution when the gifts are brought for anyone and a method is needed to get them out. The premise is simple: when it's your turn, you can open a present or steal one that's already been opened. If one is stolen, the victim gets their turn to steal, and so on. Hence, Anti-Christmas: it's all about taking, plotting, and causing chaos. Fun stuff. More pictures, if you like, on my flickr site.
