So my photography skills came in handy for once, landing us a free weekend at an estancia (an Argentine ranch). These ranches are definitely part of the heritage of the country - this one was almost as old as Canada itself (built in 1870 - the estancia, not Canada). The gauchos (Argentine cowboys) were, well, cowboys - drinking, fighting, working, wrangling, and so forth.
We went riding. It's been a long time for me. Good horses, and great guides. Long views, too - I love the prairies.
