reflectographPosted by Ryan (Kaohsiung, Taiwan) on 9 March 2007 in Architecture. It almost looks like there are graph lines when it is taken like this. Good story about the building I was standing in front of as I took this (actually the one being photographed in the reflection). Inside the ground floor entrance can be found an adult movie theatre. Next door is a wonderful old café that holds milongas (tango gatherings) every day. Both, as it happens, carry the name Ideal. Back when I first got here, I received a free tour of parts of the city that included some free Spanish lessons. One day, after wandering around this part of the city, we were supposed to meet at the café to observe some tango. After waiting and waiting for the last member of our group (who had also gotten himself lost the previous day), we were about to give up on him when I saw him enter the theatre. Assuming (correctly) he had just seen the Ideal and thought that was good enough, I headed over to let him know where we were. He came out just as I came up to the door with a very confused look on his face. I asked him what was wrong, and he said the man inside the theatre was quite confused. When I followed up with another question, my friend said he had walked into the adult theatre (not knowing it was such) and proceeded to ask, in broken Spanish, "Hi, I'm here for the Spanish lesson. Where is the class?" heh heh heh.
