Fileteado happened here a long time ago. As far as I know, it was created 'just because', and appeared on the buses at first (you can still catch some on the buses as they toodle around town). Now, it's everywhere: signs, doorways, newsstands. I've even seen stenciled fileteado. There are so many licks of it everywhere that you kind of forget about it if you're not looking for it.
